CRUISE:
The "Cruise" section of the rod is the larger diameter of the two numbers. The "Cruise" portion of the rod is in use during light throttle driving and directly affects the air fuel ratio during normal driving. This is the portion of the rod that will have a direct impact on every day fuel economy.
POWER:
The "Power" section of the rod is always the smaller diameter of the two numbers. The "Power" portion of the rod is in use during Heavy and full throttle driving and directly affects the air fuel ratio during heavy acceleration. This is the portion of the rod that will have a direct impact on full throttle horsepower.
