Power piston is located in bowl cover, piston is positioned in the piston well and staked. Piston assembly must be able to move up and down freely.
Remove bowl cover.
Press down to compress rod/spring and quickly allow rod assembly to snap up and loosen washer from staked casting. Repeating this procedure over and over "should" allow piston to be removed. Sometimes going around the top of the piston with a sharp awl will help loosen some of the staking.
If piston assembly is frozen in the hole, try penetrating oil and lastly try carefully applying heat to the outside of the piston well while pulling on the rod.
Clean bowl cover piston well thoroughly, install piston in bore and position washer inside top of casting bore.
Lightly stake area around top of power piston assembly retaining washer to secure.
Ensure piston move up and down freely.
