Self tapping inlet fitting for use with 7/8" diameter inlet with 3/8" steel fuel line. Includes new inlet gasket. Uses short fuel filter.

This self-tapping fitting, made of tough steel will reach deeper into the body casting, cutting and engaging new threads.

Installation Instructions:
This fitting has an oversize thread with the cutting action of a tap. Use care to start it straight.
For good cutting action, rotate the new fitting 1/2 turn forward, then back it up 1/4 turn, then forward 1/2 turn, continue until the new fitting bottoms with the hex section of the fitting against the casting.
Remove the fitting and clean all metal cuttings from both the carburetor cavity and the fitting.
Install the filter element spring, filter, gasket and fitting.
Re-install carb and test carefully for leaks, with engine running and full fuel pump pressure at the carburetor.
If any leakage occurs in final test, DO NOT USE, until proper corrective action has been taken.
Note: #2231B (Extra thick nylon gaskets - sold separately) offers additional sealing capability and may help seal fitting if leakage is encountered.

Note: Fitting color may be Black, Silver or Gold.

Quadrajet carburetor note:
7/8" inlet fittings are found on all 1965 thru 1971 automobile and truck Quadrajet carburetors, plus all year marine Quadrajet carburetors.
7/8" diameter inlet carburetors can be identified by the location of the inlet gasket, it will be located up against the tightening nut of the inlet fitting. After installation of the 7/8" inlet fitting on the carburetor, the inlet gasket is visible.
