Four color coded power piston springs, allow for fine tuning of primary metering rod engagement. Great aid when tuning for a larger than stock camshaft. Engines that produce less idle vacuum will require a softer spring.
How we selected these 4 springs:
QJP built a test fixture that allowed us to vary the manifold vacuum to be able to test the rates of springs. After testing many springs we determined that these 4 power piston springs gave a nice spread to be able to accommodate the needs of engines, from stock to racing cams with greatly reduced manifold vacuum.

For most stock engines with smooth idling camshafts will use the Blue spring.

This repair pin is used if your Rochester Quadrajet carburetor airhorn castings accelerator pump arm boss is snapped. This pin has a serrated shaft which is pressed into the inner boss, allowing the pump arm to function correctly. Saves you the expense of replacing the entire airhorn casting. Easy to install.

Inner step diameter: .181"

Installation Instructions:
1- Remove pump arm and carefully remove pin from casting.
2- Enlarge accelerator pump arm pivot hole to fit over machined step on repair fitting. Drill arm pivot hole to .187" (3/16").
3- Debur drilled hole with 3/8" drill, turning drill by hand until side of arm is smooth and burr free.
4- Ensure pump arm rotates smoothly on repair fitting.
5- Apply red Loctite thread locker to repair fitting splines, be careful to not get thread locker onto arm pivot surface.
6- Carefully install repair fiting (w/ pump arm). Serrated pin is carefully pressed straight into existing pivot pin hole. Allow slight (pump arm) side clearance for smooth operation.

Instructions when replacing Rochester accelerator pumps:
It is very important that the accelerator pump bore is completely smooth. Today's fuels with ethanol have less lubrication and demand super smooth pump bore surfaces. Polish pump bore with crocus cloth as required. Rough pump bore surfaces will cause pump cup to stick to bore and tear or dislodge from plunger assembly.
Do not allow carburetor cleaner come in contact with pump assembly.
Coat outer edges of pump cup with a light coating of grease, if pump bore is not submerged in fuel.
Long term vehicle storage:
If vehicle is dormant and fuel bowl is allowed to go dry, pump cup has a much higher chance of sticking to pump bore. If bowl has run dry, fill fuel bowl with fuel before pumping accelerator pump assembly.
Additional recommended items:
Replacing the accelerator pump requires the removal of the air horn, it's always a good idea to have an extra set of air horn gaskets on hand to replace a ripped or worn gasket.

Instructions when replacing Rochester accelerator pumps:
It is very important that the accelerator pump bore is completely smooth. Today's fuels with ethanol have less lubrication and demand super smooth pump bore surfaces. Polish pump bore with crocus cloth as required. Rough pump bore surfaces will cause pump cup to stick to bore and tear or dislodge from plunger assembly.
Do not allow carburetor cleaner come in contact with pump assembly.
Coat outer edges of pump cup with a light coating of grease, if pump bore is not submerged in fuel.
Long term vehicle storage:
If vehicle is dormant and fuel bowl is allowed to go dry, pump cup has a much higher chance of sticking to pump bore. If bowl has run dry, fill fuel bowl with fuel before pumping accelerator pump assembly.
Additional recommended items:
Replacing the accelerator pump requires the removal of the air horn, it's always a good idea to have an extra set of air horn gaskets on hand to replace a ripped or worn gasket.

The airhorn gasket is the most abused gasket on the Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. When removed for jet or tuning changes, old brittle gasket can break. If your going to go inside your Q-Jet, it best to have a couple of these gaskets on hand.…see more
